A Look Back at Summer 2010

These are the golden days of summer....It's not quite Fall, but there's a sense of urgency to use the remaining sunshine before the bitter cold arrives. We have had a great summer. I've learned how to take care of and entertain two young boys while trying to get things done around the house. It's taken some time, but I feel like I'm getting the hang of it. Wellington and Fielding are a little less than 15 months apart. Yes, I do have my hands full. But what better way to be busy than having two adorable children? And now, I'm blogging!

We haven't let having two under two deter us from doing things this year. We started our summer off in late April by going to Hilton Head with some great friends, the Hirshs. May brought Josh's birthday and another trip to my grandparents' beach house in HH. July 4th we had our fifth 4th of July party. And just recently, we took our sixth annual September trip to HH with our great friends the Henrys (Sean, Vanessa, Michaela, Alexis), the Hoffers (Steven, Karen, William), and Cahills (Paul, Katy, Mary Frances). We are hoping to take another trip before the holidays too.

Although that sounds like a lot of away time, we have been home quite a bit. During those times, Josh bought a 12' Jon boat. He has gone out fishing a few times and is having fun learning about boats and motors. (Josh dreams of having a yacht someday....you've got to start somewhere!) Wellington LOVES boats and fish. We've taken him to the lake a few times to fish and he just loves it. Here is a picture of him before we even launched the boat this summer. We've also had great playdates with friends, trips to the pool, a trips to the mountains, play time in the sprinkler, and renovation on the house (details in another post). It's been great. Maybe we are ready for the seasons to change...maybe.
