Fielding....my little 2 year old

once again, i've put off blogging until way after the fact. But, my little man turned 2 this spring and seems to be changing daily! Fielding is my goofy, loving, cuddly, smart, and stubborn baby who is no longer a baby. :( I really think 2 years old marks a huge development stage in little ones. Since his birthday in March he has started talking in sentences, asking, "why, mommy?" to everything, and thinks he is big enough to do anything. :) for his birthday he told me he wanted a "basketball dunking party." Well even though I spent lots of time on pinterest doing "research" for the party, it wasn't all that put together. {can't seem to find my pics either???} We did, however, have a great time playing with all the cousins and eating basketball cupcakes from kroger....yea, i kind of phoned it in. Sorry fielding! Anyhow...Fielding got to pick out his own gift at Target {thanks to pop pop and Aunt Sarah} and he chose this fishing rod. He was super stoked.

Fielding loves fishing, basketball, and swimming. Daily he comes up to me just to say, "I love you, Mommy. So much." It melts my heart. At 2 years and 3 months, he is unfortunately, in his full glory of being terrible 2. But, I'm confident that we'll all survive and he'll grow out of it. {Lord willing!!!} but i love my little man and can't imagine life without his sweet voice and adorable giggle. =)

Great Guana Cay, Bahamas 2012

I'm not sure how it happened, but both of my children are sleeping. As this post is a month over due...thought i'd hope to it. :) In early February, we went on our first big airplane vacation with the boys. We flew down to Great Gauna Cay, Bahamas. It was wonderful. Although we had a few days of cool weather, it was still so nice to get away, sleep, and get a little sun.
To begin our trip, we took a limo to the airport at 5:30am. This was fun for us all.

We flew from ATL to Miami, then to Marsh Harbour. The kids did great. We quickly got a taxi and headed to the grocery store (a necessity since there aren't any big stores on Guana). We then caught the ferry to Guana. Once there, we got a ride from the lady that takes care of the house we rented. Wells and Josh hoped in the back of the tiniest pickup I've ever seen while Fielding (fast alseep in my arms) and I got in the cab.

I had been promising Fielding that he could have plenty of naked time when we got to the beach. So, first things first. We had a snack and they got naked :).
Oh...we may have enjoyed a few of these Bahamian beers.

A golf cart was very handy to have on the island and the boys loved riding in it. We visited Grabber's {beach, restaurant, tiki bar} almost every day. They have the quietest beach for the kids to play in the water. Fielding is a born vacationer.

Here is a view from the front porch of our house.
We thought we were going to be right on the water, but it turned out that we had to walk down the trail then to the stairs. That's okay though; I wasn't as worried about the kids going down by themselves.
Fielding, aka fish man, spotted all the rods first off and wanted to fish any chance he could. Unfortunately, only one of the dozen rods was fully functioning. Every day we tried a new strip of beach. This was right off a post card. Beautiful clear water and deserted.

More naked time....the water was soooo cold that day!

I tried very hard to find a ripe coconut. I realized I know nothing about picking a good coconut.

The third largest reef in the world was right in front of our house. Unfortunately, the waves were too rough for us to swim out without a boat. Josh and i did, however, take turns snorkeling out to the nearer small reefs - amazing!!

The beach was different from any beach we'd been to before. It changed every day. We hardly saw anyone the entire week.

Sadly, a cold front came through. So we put all our long sleeved clothing on a tried to entertain ourselves.

We took a trip into town and looked at the boats in the harbour.

 Fished!

Eventually the sun came back :)....

Here are my boys on our way to take back our golf cart. We were out of food by that time so we also went for breakfast at Bambi's. It was so delicious!! If you're visiting Guana Cay, we thought Bambi's was the nicest place to eat on the whole island.

I just think he is soooooo adorable!
Walking back to the house on "main street".

Leftovers for dinner at the house....I know. Not nutritious at all!!
We took the ferry back Tuesday evening and stayed in Marsh Harbor for the night so we wouldn't be rushed to catch our flight out. The boys had fun staying in the hotel....pizza for breakfast. Living the life ;).
To keep us busy, the boys swam in the 20 degree pool. I don't know how they do it!

 Marsh Harbor

Our only family photo of the trip!
Fielding and Wells are experienced fliers now. He's watching Nemo...the only movie I downloaded before the trip. I think we watched it like 50 times...
 my hot husband!

There are so many details I could add about the trip...but I'm afraid the kids are waking. We can't wait to go on another trip. I love my boys!!
