Beach, Wedding, Easter!

Wow! Sorry it's been so long! I kept thinking about posting, but never sat down to do it. I don't know how moms blog everyday!

Well, things have been just chugging along here. We made a trip to Hilton Head just as a family and had a great time riding bikes and hanging out. It was very windy and a bit cold to really be out in bathing suits. But, that didn't stop the boys from wanting to play in the water. I did my best to not get in!

Hilton Head is great for riding bikes! The kids loved it so much I'm thinking about getting a bike with a cart to ride around here.

Ice cream is just part of going to the beach for me. We rode our bikes to Caligny to eat ice cream for lunch one day. I've gotten ice cream at this shop since I was a little kid. So fun to bring my own!

And, when we got back, the weather turned warm! So we've spent lots of time playing in the yard. Fielding can do the slide himself now - so big!

Two weeks ago Josh's sister, Rachel, got married. We had a wonderful time celebrating with her and her new husband, Nils. It was a long day for the boys, but they did great!

{Uncle Paul with his son Andrew. Doesn't he look like Fielding??}

{Fielding looking so cute! We had to be at the church at 9am to do pictures before the 11am wedding.}

{Wells}

We kept all the kids {they were all in the wedding} in the room with Rachel. Snacks and Cars, the movie, kept them pretty entertained until show time.

{Wells and I sitting in the pews during the wedding.}

I hope to get more pictures of the wedding up soon. The pictures from the photographer have not been posted yet....I hope there are some good ones!

Easter! Saturday before Easter, Brekken and I took the kids to Cagle's Dairy farm for a picnic and egg hunt. It was great! The kids had a great time playing and seeing the animals.

And last but not least, a house update. The bank as found the deed, but there are some issues. They've locked in our rate for another 30 days. Still waiting. Meanwhile, Josh and I continue to day dream about what we will do with the house and can't wait to actually buy it!!

Have a great week!

P.S. Maybe these will help....??

The waiting game

This post is a little backwards and unorganized...my appologies. Have I shown you the chairs? I'm pretty happy with them. However, they are not in use with the slipcovers yet. Saving them for the new house....which is going to be a while.... :(
And the garden....well, plants...are now in the ground! Most of them at least.

Wells got his first Great Clips hair cut! I have cut his hair in the past, but considering the upcoming wedding he is to be in, I thought it best to let a professional clean up the edges. He did great! And here are some ties I'm making for Aunty Rachel's wedding! Wedding is on April 15th! We're getting excited!! Aren't they cute!?!
Title explanation: Not only has Spring disappeared, but our closing date has too! *sigh* our closing date for the Hembree house has come and gone and there is no resolution on the bank's missing document issue. All we can do is wait, hope, and pray that something! happens...and I'm praying soon! {will you pray too please!!} Sometimes it's hard to know if a situation is God trying to teach you something, the devil trying to discourage you, God saying this is a bad decision...or what. I still have a good feeling about pursuing the house, so, we're just waiting.

Soo...in the meantime, I've planted some of my seedlings in my little 4 x 5 garden area and have given half of the rest to my brother in law and am going to help my sister plant the rest in her garden! I'm jealous of all her new raised beds and am going to do my garden vicariously thru her. Plus, I'll get to hang out with my nephew, see her, and the boys will get to play. Not bad.

That's the update with us. Now back to making ties. 1 down. 3 to go!

The beginning of Spring

It's been busy around here, but the kind of busy that I'm not sure what I've done at the end of the day and actually have little to show for my time other than the kids have been fed, changed, changed again and the house is semi in order....don't know if you could ever relate to that.... BUT, Spring is officially here in my book! March 11th marks the begining of spring for me. It's Fielding's birthday! Not only have we startes harvesting more from our garden...see cabbage below...

and we've been hanging out outside {just "redid" this deck chair with new paint and fabric - Fielding loves it!}....

But we had Fielding's 1st birthday! I'm so proud of my little man! He is getting bigger and cuter by the day. Big brother enjoyed the party very much also, and he was probably more excited about all the new toys than Fielding.

{my camera is on the frits! Sorry for the fuzz...}

{this was breakfast on his birthday}

Fielding started walking one day before his first birthday. He's doing great! Only a few bloody lips so far but nothing major. He's trying to keep up with Wells, and it's wearing him out! We are also on day two of weening! Daddy has been putting him to bed for me and he's doing great! Hurray!

{Another day at the farm.}

I just have to tell you a quick story about this day. Earlier in the day we had visited the new house {which we still haven't closed on :( } and I had talked to my mom about maybe driving up to see her at the farm. After hanging up, I asked Wells if he'd like to go to the farm that day. He, in his carseat, paused then said, "Yea. Go to the farm. Let's do it, Babe!" LOL He kept saying, "Let's do it, Babe." the whole way to the farm and I couldn't help but giggle each time! Ha! I love little kids!

So, I've been working on the slip covers for my green chairs some more. They are close! I made my own welting, and have all but the hem of one chair and the custion cover to make....I can see the end. I've actually enjoyed the project; it's just dragging on a bit....can you wonder why? :)

{welting}

{ottoman that is finished! In hinsight, I wish I had done a different/more modern fabric, but I guess it will be a good accent piece.}

Other than that, we're still waiting to close on the house. I'm an aching to start working on it and getting in. Hopefully, we'll close some time in the next 10 days. We shall see. Our seedings are growing out of their pots and need to be put in the ground, but we have to wait on that too since I'm planning to make the garden at the new house....order. One thing at a time.

Hope you're well!

Spring time activities

Two weeks ago, Josh took a short day at work and we went to the zoo! The boys loved it. It was a beautiful spring day. We wore ourselves out but had a great time.

The kids' section had a train. Wells is obsessed with trains right now, so we obviously HAD to ride it.

Here are the boys five minutes after getting in the car. What a fun day!

As soon as the days started to warm, I went and bought seeds. I normally buy plants, but I'm hoping to do a little bigger garden so I thought I'd try seeds to save a bit of cash. The Hembree house is seeming to cost more and more....we could spend SOO much money. Anyway, every little bit helps, right? So we started some of our seeds indoors. Wells is a great helper and loves gardening. I just got some more seeds from my brother in law ~ we're going to plant them when I'm done with this post.

Take care!

If you give a kid a muffin....

He'll probably want to make some. Wells didn't take a nap today...but he did read "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" to himself. When I got him "up" he said, "Mommy! Make muffins??!?". And so...we made muffins. And they were yummy. Pumpkin-Apple Muffin Recipe
